"Hi my name is Alexandra Powers I volunteer at Yellow Horse 4 days a week.  I clean paddocks, feed the horses and do whatever Joye needs me to do.. I have loved Horses since I was a little girl my mom would take me & my sister trail riding at a couple of times a year.. and I always thought someday I would owe my own horse…Five years ago I was diagnosed with a Gangioblastoma (Brain tumor) I was going into my senior year in high school since then I have had 3 brain surgeries went thru radiation and Chemo treatments,  the tumor is located on a part of my brain which can never be completely removed.  I will finish my current chemo in December. This is how I came to yellow horse I was looking for something to get involved in and give myself a sense of self worth,  My mom went to school with Joye and you guested it Joye took me in with open arms.. I love being around the horses and helping Joye with a lesson if possible or just being a walker ..It gives me a place to belong where I can just be myself.  It’s a dream come true being around something I have always loved."
